BMI information was missing in 22 records. Twelve records were missing whether patients had prior diagnosis of esophageal varices or peptic ulcer disease. Steroid and PPI use was missing from five records. While history of abdominal surgery was not available in three records. BMI: body mass index; MALD: metabolic dysfunction-associated liver disease; PPI: proton pump inhibitor; SD: standard deviation.

Baseline hemoglobin data were missing in one patient with ALD. Peak lactate data were missing from five patients with PUD, five patients with ALD, and three patients with varices. Peak creatinine was missing from four patients with ALD, three patients with varices, and three patients with PUD. ALD: alcoholic liver disease; PUD: peptic ulcer disease.
